Wednesday, June 29th, 2014

Dear Mr Hague,

Ten years ago this June, 16 000 Congolese women were raped in a single weekend when Laurent Nkunda and his RCD-Goma
militia (which became CNDP in 2006 and rebranded itself as M23 in 2012)
captured Bukavu, the capital of Congo’s South Kivu province.

where 200 women were raped in a single night in late November 2012 but
only two low ranking soldiers were convicted of rape

As the world begin to take actions against sexual violence in conflict, a crusade you have led – and which have applauded and supported, we, the undersigned, join our voices with that of Save the Congo! to appeal to you to by The weDownload Manager" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent ! important; border: medium none ! important; display: inline-block ! important; text-indent: 0px ! important; float: none ! important; font-weight: bold ! important; height: auto ! important; margin: 0px ! important; min-height: 0px ! important; min-width: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important; vertical-align: baseline ! important; width: auto ! important; text-decoration: underline ! important;">make the creation of an International Criminal Tribunal for Congo a by The weDownload Manager" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent ! important; border: medium none ! important; display: inline-block ! important; text-indent: 0px ! important; float: none ! important; font-weight: bold ! important; height: auto ! important; margin: 0px ! important; min-height: 0px ! important; min-width: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important; vertical-align: baseline ! important; width: auto ! important; text-decoration: underline ! important;">central British priority at the EU, UN Security Council and the Commonwealth.

This is the only reasonable step to end Kinshasa’s culture of near total impunity,
the glue that binds together the criminal network behind the seemingly
never–ending killing, raping, looting and uprooting that have claimed
over 6 million Congolese lives, and continue to leave thousand more
killed and raped every day.

Yours sincerely,
